Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data is processed when you use QRify (qrify.page), why, and what rights you have. We wrote it to be short and readable.

The short version: everything you type into the generator — links, Wi-Fi passwords, contact details — stays in your browser. It is never sent to our servers and never stored by us.

1. Who is responsible

The controller responsible for data processing on this website under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is QRify. You can reach us at privacy@qrify.page for any privacy question or request.

2. QR code content stays on your device

QR codes are generated entirely in your browser with JavaScript. The content you enter, uploaded logos and the images you download are processed locally on your device and are not transmitted to us or to any third party.

The codes we generate are static: the data is stored inside the code itself. We do not operate a redirect service and cannot see when or where a code is scanned.

3. Hosting and server logs

The website is hosted on Cloudflare’s network (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When you open a page, your browser necessarily sends technical data such as your IP address, the requested URL, the date and time, the referring page and your browser’s user agent. Cloudflare processes this data to deliver the website, protect it against attacks and abuse, and provide us with short-lived error and performance logs.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in providing a secure and reliable website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare acts as our processor under a data processing agreement. Logs are kept only as long as needed for these purposes, normally a few days. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies (such as __cf_bm) to distinguish humans from bots.

4. Local storage in your browser

To remember your preferences between visits we store a few values in your browser’s local storage. They never leave your device and we cannot read them:

  • qrify:style:v1 — your QR code design (colors, shapes, logo, frame). Never the content of the code.
  • qrify:format and qrify:width — your preferred download format and image size.
  • mantine-color-scheme-value — whether you prefer light or dark mode.

These entries are strictly necessary to provide features you actively use, so no consent is required (Art. 5(3) ePrivacy Directive and its national implementations). You can delete them at any time by clearing your browser’s site data.

5. Advertising and cookies

To keep QRify free we show ads provided by Google AdSense (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads, limit how often you see an ad, measure ad performance and prevent fraud. If you consent, ads may also be personalized based on your interests.

Visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent through a consent management platform certified by Google before any non-essential advertising cookies are set. Without consent, Google may still show non-personalized or limited ads that use cookies only for essential purposes such as fraud prevention. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the privacy settings link shown on the site; withdrawal does not affect processing carried out before it.

6. International data transfers

Cloudflare and Google may process data in the United States and other countries outside the EU. Both companies are certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and additionally rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, which provide an adequate level of data protection.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15);
  • have inaccurate data corrected (Art. 16) or deleted (Art. 17);
  • restrict processing (Art. 18) and receive your data in a portable format (Art. 20);
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21);
  • withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3));
  • lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU country where you live or work (Art. 77).

To exercise your rights, email us at privacy@qrify.page. Because we do not collect names, accounts or QR code content, we usually hold no data that could identify you.

8. Children

QRify is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

9. Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our services or the law change. The date at the top shows the latest version. Material changes will be announced on the website.
